Accessibility Statement
This site is for people living with epilepsy and the people who love them. Everyone should be able to use it.

Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Accessibility is built into the site’s code itself, not added afterward with a plug-in or overlay.
What that means in practice
- No flashing content. Nothing on the site flashes or strobes, in line with WCAG’s seizure safety rule (2.3.1, Three Flashes or Below Threshold). This matters especially on a site about epilepsy.
- Less motion when you ask for it. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations switch off. No video or audio plays on its own.
- Keyboard friendly. Every link, button, and menu works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Readable. Text and background colors are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast, text can be resized, and pages work on phones.
- Screen reader support. Pages use real headings and landmarks, images have text descriptions, and links say where they go.
Known limitations
- The downloadable PDFs are designed for printing and may not work fully with every screen reader. The same first aid information is on the Learn page. If you need a printable in another format, ask and we will help.
- Sites we link to, such as Amazon and Instagram, are outside our control.
How we test
The site was last reviewed on October 7, 2026, using automated accessibility testing (axe) on every page plus manual checks of keyboard use, mobile layout, and reduced motion. No automated tool catches everything, so your feedback matters.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of the site does not work for you, please let us know what page you were on and what happened, and we will work to fix it or get you the information another way. Email lasherascreations@gmail.com.
